Once upon a time there was an evening with a full moon and a young girl, Sophie, who used to talk to and greet the moon good night from her balcony. And one evening a young man, Mark, was sleeping in the moon.
Mark - the moon nightwatch This work has always been fulfilled by Marks ancestors, whom, from beginning of life, believed strongly in the love of mother Earth and father Heaven, and to return a little of this love, they started guiding the essential light of day and night for the children of Earth. The women in the family took preciously and proudly care of the warmth and the beauty of the sun, and the men took special care of the mysterious, magical, romantic moon, as it spreads out its silvery wings and surrounds the nights with dreams and wonders. Now, as Mark has been assigned to this honour of watching the moon, after his father passed away, one night "on duty" he sights this beautiful, young girl, Sophie, and as he falls in love with her, he desperately wants to be with her every minute of the day, every second of the night - but as he must go to watch the moon each evening, he turns to his mother for help, realising that living without Sophie by his side, would make him miserable. Sarah - Marks mother, having the wisdom of the sun and the strength of heaven in her back, knows that the "way-to-go" for her son and this young girl is a choice between two different worlds. She therefore tells him that if he in the daytime, under her observance, can have this Sophie fall in love with him - one of them must give up present lifestyle and enter another world. Sohie must be willing to ignore what her family and friends might offer as for not seeing Mark, and if so happens Mark continues watching the moon - or he must leave the world of his family and let his younger brother Peter take care of the moon. Mark appreciates and loves his mother even more after this sacrifice of hers, and promises he won't let her down, and also makes arrangements, so he teaches his kidbrother Peter the secrets of the moon - all awhile he, to present himself to Sophie, appears in the house of the Hardings, knowing that they're searching for a private teacher for their daughter. Of course Elisabeth and John fall for his charm and intelligence, and the following day he starts teaching Sophie. Sophie has no brothers or sisters, and as she was born with a silverspoon in her mouth, her parents spoiled their little jewel throughout the years - only, they didn't spend as much time with her as she wished they would, they were always running around to business-meetings, opening premieres, gallas, etc.

As she grew up to be a beautiful young girl, Elisabeth and John wanted to make sure she had enough friends and admirers, so naturally they invited their business-associates' sons and daughters, so Sophie had always had company running around with her in the big house. Surely Elisabeth and John also wanted to find an appropriate husband for their Sophie, and even though she really did try to see the best in all of those young men riding up and down the alley to the house, Sophie had this feeling, this dream, that someday a special man would walk into her life, and sweep her feet off the floor.
And the funny thing was, she knew that this special one, the prince of her dreams and her heart, would be a man of poverty, a man that had learned to appreciate life and love in the most basic form, a man that felt close to nature, and knew how to handle life with grace and dignity. John Harding - Sophies father, and owner of "Harding Build Inside", a family company that was founded in his grandfathers days. Elisabeth Harding - Sophies mother, and indoor-designer attached to the family company ... Sophies parents had from the beginning arranged, so she had a private teacher at home, where one or two other children took part in the training, and made their homework together with Sophie. Now, as she had taken the final exams of elementary school, she was supposed to have just one teacher to come every day, as to learn the more society-side things of life, how to behave, all the rules and ethics of the high society, and how to appreciate art, music, and other forms of life-interpreters. No one had yet turned out to be the right one for this job, untill this day when Marks shows up on the doorstep, and sings his way into the hearts of Sophie, Elisabeth, and John.
